Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that authorities have successfully identified all individuals who gained illicit profits from the recent multibillion-dollar investment fund scandal in Turkey. During a joint media appearance, Şimşek stated that the government intends to reclaim these funds and enhance regulatory oversight to prevent future market manipulation. The recovery process will prioritize entities and persons who secured inflation-adjusted gains exceeding 10 million lira. Those who refuse to return the capital voluntarily will face formal legal action, with the government prepared to seize personal assets to settle the debts. The controversy surfaced in mid-September when several investment funds failed to process withdrawal requests, triggering investigations into widespread market abuse. While the minister confirmed the identification of those involved, he did not disclose specific names or the total financial impact of the scheme.
