Construction is currently progressing on a new pedestrian bridge in Kusunti Height, Lalitpur, which marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind in Nepal to incorporate elevator facilities. Designed by a team led by Binod Neupane, the infrastructure aims to enhance road safety and accessibility for all pedestrians. The project specifically targets the needs of elderly individuals, patients, and those with limited mobility, providing a convenient crossing option near the nearby Patan Hospital. Funded by the Lalitpur Metropolitan City, this initiative represents a novel approach to urban planning in the country, prioritizing inclusivity for vulnerable groups who struggle with traditional stair-only overpasses. Work on the site continued through the recent holiday period to ensure the structure meets its goal of facilitating easier movement for the local population.
