Sri Lankan authorities have addressed a viral video depicting a woman confronting police officers in Gandara, confirming the footage originates from an incident on January 28, 2024. The individual was apprehended that day following allegations of verbal abuse, threats, and physical assault against two officers. Additional charges included reckless driving and traffic violations. The suspect appeared before the Kotavila Magistrate’s Court, where she was released on a personal bail of Rs. 200,000 and had her driving license suspended. During a court appearance on March 26, 2024, the woman entered a plea of not guilty. Official investigations have indicated that the accused has since departed the country, while the legal process remains ongoing.
