On September 24, Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) intercepted a significant drug shipment at the Pasir Panjang Scanning Station. During a targeted inspection of a shipping container, officers discovered 1,290 blocks of cannabis weighing approximately 391 kilograms. The illegal substances were concealed within boxes originally intended for gloves. The discovery followed an analysis of scanned images, which revealed irregularities that prompted a more thorough physical examination. This joint operation successfully disrupted a suspected international smuggling attempt. Both agencies released a statement on Friday detailing the seizure, highlighting the effectiveness of current surveillance and targeting protocols in preventing the entry of illicit narcotics into the country.
