Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Rahbar Ansari has formally requested government intervention regarding an ongoing dispute at the National Medical College in Birgunj. During a parliamentary session, Ansari reported that postgraduate students have been demonstrating for ten days against administrative misconduct. He stated that the college management has restricted student movement, including blocking hostel exits and campus entry points, following their protests. Furthermore, Ansari alleged that the institution secured approximately 25 postgraduate positions by misrepresenting its faculty roster with individuals who are not actually employed there. These claims follow reports of discrepancies identified during an inspection conducted by the Medical Education Commission. The lawmaker emphasized the gravity of these allegations, urging authorities to investigate the reported irregularities and the treatment of the protesting students.
