During a Finance Committee meeting, Nepali Congress lawmaker Narendra KC proposed the inclusion of a dedicated monetary policy formulation committee within the Nepal Rastra Bank Act amendment bill. KC argued that such a body would provide valuable discourse and conclusions to benefit the national economy. While acknowledging that the committee had already reached a consensus on the bill, he questioned whether new, relevant provisions could still be integrated during the final stages of the legislative process. Other lawmakers, including Pushparaj Kandel and Parshuram Tamang, discussed the procedure for recording dissenting views regarding the tenure of the Governor and other officials. Despite these differences, KC emphasized that his suggestions were intended to improve the bill and would not obstruct the committee's overall progress as it prepares to submit the legislation to the House.
