Pokhara Stadium is moving toward installing floodlights to facilitate night sporting events, a feature currently missing despite the facility's international standards. The project faced initial uncertainty due to the stadium's proximity to Pokhara International Airport, located just 1.5 kilometers away. A technical team led by Senior Engineer Krishna Poudel has begun evaluating permissible height limits for lighting structures to ensure aviation safety remains uncompromised. District Sports Development Committee Chairman Milan Gurung indicated that if standard tall towers are restricted, alternative modern lighting technologies will be utilized. The project, estimated to cost between 140 and 160 million rupees, has received an initial federal allocation of 80 million rupees. Officials plan to finalize the detailed project report and initiate the tender process following the Dashain-Tihar festivals, aiming for completion within the current fiscal year.
