Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has scheduled a high-level meeting for tomorrow to evaluate the consequences of recent electricity tariff hikes on Malaysian households. The session will involve key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, the Energy Commission, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, and the Ministry of Finance. Following his return from official visits to India and the Maldives, Anwar emphasized his commitment to resolving public grievances regarding utility costs. While the government intends to persist with its targeted subsidy strategy to safeguard the welfare of the general population, the Prime Minister stressed the urgency of implementing immediate relief measures to mitigate the financial burden on affected citizens.
