Construction of the Long Thanh International Airport passenger terminal has reached its final phase, with over 76% of the VND35 trillion project completed. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) reports that the western wing and central section are nearing readiness for initial trial runs scheduled for October. Workers are currently finalizing interior installations, including check-in counters, escalators, and essential mechanical and safety systems. The facility, designed with a lotus-inspired aesthetic, will integrate modern technology such as biometric check-ins and self-service baggage drops. ACV has intensified efforts to ensure all critical infrastructure is prepared for the planned commercial launch in December 2026. By mid-September, the primary construction package, which covers the terminal, runways, and supporting facilities, had achieved approximately 80% of its contract value, keeping the project on schedule for its year-end objectives.
