Data released by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board indicates that the nation's total palm oil reserves expanded by 7.48 percent in August 2026, reaching 2.82 million tonnes compared to 2.62 million tonnes in July. This growth was primarily driven by a 15.20 percent surge in crude palm oil stocks, which climbed to 1.64 million tonnes. Conversely, inventories of processed palm oil saw a slight decline of 1.71 percent, settling at 1.17 million tonnes. Regarding production figures, crude palm oil output experienced a modest rise of 1.39 percent to 1.81 million tonnes. Additionally, palm kernel production increased by 1.97 percent to 430,599 tonnes, while the output of crude palm kernel oil saw a marginal uptick of 0.10 percent to 199,589 tonnes during the same period.
