Earlier this year, the politician withdrew from State Duma election bids following police searches and temporary detentions. His departure occurs as the liberal party faces mounting pressure, including the recent arrest of six regional candidates on charges related to extremist symbols. These legal actions have disqualified several party members from participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Despite these challenges, some Yabloko candidates remain in the race for single-member districts, even as the party continues to navigate a difficult political environment characterized by increased scrutiny from law enforcement authorities.
