The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) board has approved a payment of approximately 1.95 million rupees to an employee who sustained injuries from an electric shock. The incident occurred on March 24, 2026, when 25-year-old Sher Bahadur Magar was performing maintenance on a 15 kV transmission line in Melamchi. Following the accident, the worker received medical care at Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, with treatment costs amounting to over 978,000 rupees. The total compensation package, which covers both medical expenses and additional damages, was finalized during a board meeting held on Wednesday. This financial support is being provided in accordance with the organization's established electricity compensation regulations to assist the employee in his recovery.
