A recent assessment conducted by the National Planning Commission and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority indicates that repairing Nepal's energy sector following severe flooding will require approximately 390 billion rupees. The report highlights significant destruction across the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river basins, specifically impacting hydropower and solar facilities in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. In total, 13 hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 783 MW and five solar projects totaling 24 MW sustained damage. The study identifies the energy and road networks as the most heavily affected areas. These funds are designated for the comprehensive recovery and reconstruction of both power generation assets and the national grid system, which are critical for the country's infrastructure stability.
