The Nepali community residing in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia, successfully collected 1,238,660 rupees (AUD 11,273) to assist those impacted by recent severe flooding in Nepal. A fundraising gathering held in Katoomba brought together approximately 200 participants, exceeding initial expectations. The event featured traditional Nepali cuisine prepared by volunteers, alongside various cultural performances and music, providing an opportunity for local Australian residents to engage with Nepali heritage. The initiative, supported by the Blue Mountains Nepali Community and local Katoomba residents, served as a platform for both communities to contribute financially toward disaster relief efforts in Nepal. All proceeds gathered during the evening are being directed to support the recovery of families and communities affected by the natural disaster.
