Both officials expressed support for implementing measures against trade and services associated with illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. This diplomatic dialogue follows recent announcements from the United Kingdom, France, and Canada, which have moved to restrict imports and services linked to these settlements. British Foreign Secretary David Miliband emphasized that such actions are necessary to address settlement expansion, which threatens the viability of a two-state solution. In addition to these nations, twelve other countries have signaled their intention to introduce similar trade restrictions, reflecting a growing international consensus on addressing the impact of settlement activities on regional stability.
