A 22-year-old individual, Muhammad Mukhris Sulaiman, appeared before the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court to face five criminal counts. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty regarding allegations that he secretly filmed four women using a factory restroom in Bukit Minyak, Penang. These incidents reportedly occurred between September 2 and September 23. The prosecution invoked Section 509 of the Penal Code, which addresses actions designed to violate an individual's modesty, punishable by up to five years in prison, a monetary penalty, or both. Additionally, the accused faces a separate charge related to the possession of obscene video material. Magistrate Sharifah Razali presided over the proceedings as the defendant requested a trial.
