Law enforcement officials in Kazakhstan have successfully raided an industrial-sized drug laboratory located in the Karaganda Region. Authorities estimate that the facility had the capacity to manufacture up to two tonnes of mephedrone, which represents approximately two million individual doses. The street value of these illicit substances is projected to reach 40 billion tenge. The operation was a collaborative effort involving the regional police department, the National Security Committee, and the prosecutor’s office. Investigators identified the site as part of a transnational criminal network involved in the production and distribution of narcotics across Kazakhstan and neighboring nations. During the raid, police apprehended two suspects, aged 28 and 48, who are currently under investigation for their roles in the illicit operation.
