A tense standoff is currently underway in Chon Buri after a police officer, identified as Pol Sub Lt Thatsaphong Thongthat, allegedly killed his wife at a kindergarten facility. The victim, 48-year-old Pailin Thongthat, was discovered deceased at the Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict Municipality Kindergarten on the morning of September 9. Following the incident, all 44 students present at the school were successfully evacuated and reunited with their families. Authorities tracked the suspect to his residence, located approximately three kilometers from the school. Despite efforts by police commandos to negotiate a peaceful surrender, including the involvement of the suspect's daughter-in-law, a local village headman, and the mayor of Nong Pla Lai, the individual remains barricaded inside his home. Law enforcement officials continue to maintain a perimeter around the property as the situation remains unresolved.
