The 94th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from November 30 to December 3. China will serve as the host nation, with local logistical coordination managed by the Hong Kong Police Force. Delegates from all 196 member states are invited to deliberate on global strategies for combating transnational criminal activities and enhancing cross-border law enforcement collaboration. Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza indicated that the assembly will evaluate the potential adoption of the Silver Notice system. This mechanism, which underwent a two-year trial period, is designed to assist authorities in tracking and identifying illicit assets across different legal jurisdictions. By focusing on the financial foundations of criminal operations, the initiative aims to facilitate the recovery and repatriation of assets through formal judicial channels.
