President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued a directive to national law enforcement agencies to dismantle and remove all international drug syndicates attempting to establish operations within the country. According to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro, the administration is prioritizing the prosecution of any local individuals found collaborating with these criminal networks. The Department of the Interior and Local Government, alongside the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, maintains regular briefings with the President regarding the status of ongoing anti-narcotics initiatives. Castro emphasized that the government is particularly focused on preventing the smuggling of illicit substances across borders. The President has expressed a firm commitment to identifying and eliminating these criminal organizations at their source, regardless of how entrenched their operations may have become within the nation.
