Operations at Misrata International Airport in Libya were temporarily halted following an aviation accident on Monday. A private Cessna Citation Latitude, arriving from Istanbul without passengers, veered off the runway during its landing sequence and subsequently caught fire. The three-member flight crew, consisting of two pilots and one cabin attendant, managed to evacuate the aircraft safely and sustained no injuries. Local emergency responders and airport fire crews arrived promptly to extinguish the blaze and secure the site. In response to the incident, the Libyan Ministry of Transportation ordered a suspension of all flight activities to prioritize safety and conduct necessary inspections of the runway area. Authorities are currently working to ensure that navigation standards are met before resuming normal airport operations.
