A recent government-led public consultation regarding the implementation of a 450-baht tourist fee in Thailand has concluded with favorable results. Conducted between August 24 and September 28, the survey gathered 5,954 responses, with 80.5% of participants expressing approval for the proposed regulatory framework. Furthermore, 78.3% of respondents specifically endorsed the 450-baht price point. While the majority supported the initiative, participants held varying opinions on whether the fee should be applied uniformly across all modes of transport, including air, land, and sea travel. Regarding the collection process, the most favored approach among those surveyed was integrating the payment directly into travel tickets, which received 36.26% of the votes. The government is now expected to proceed with the next stages of the approval process for this measure.
