Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has mandated the immediate removal of four department officials as inquiries into potential misconduct proceed. The administrative action follows allegations of irregularities concerning flood control infrastructure projects located in Davao City, as well as reports regarding extortion activities linked to a construction official based in Cebu. Among the individuals affected by this directive are former Davao City district engineer Richard Ragasa, current district engineer Lilibeth Sarmiento, and construction section chief Roberto Mamaril. Dizon confirmed that these personnel are currently under scrutiny by the National Bureau of Investigation. The suspension is intended to facilitate a thorough and impartial investigation into the reported anomalies within the agency's operations.
