The family of Tan Ah Bang, a 67-year-old man killed by his adopted daughter in 2022, has initiated legal proceedings to prevent the perpetrator from inheriting his assets. Tan Qiu Yan, 35, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for culpable homicide after using a chopper to kill her father during a dispute over property. Court records from her sentencing revealed that the offender suffered from a delusional disorder, leading her to fear eviction from the Sengkang residence. The victim's siblings are now petitioning the court to ensure that the killer cannot claim ownership of the flat or any other parts of the estate. This legal action aims to address the inheritance rights following the violent incident that stemmed from long-standing tensions regarding the family home.
