The International Crimes Tribunal has ruled that retired Major General Ziaul Ahsan will participate in his legal proceedings via virtual connection from prison rather than appearing in person. Ahsan faces serious charges related to crimes against humanity, including allegations of murder and the enforced disappearance of over 100 individuals. Prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hossain confirmed that the tribunal approved the prosecution's request for remote attendance starting this Tuesday. This decision follows concerns raised during an October 8 hearing by Ahsan’s legal counsel and sister, Nazneen Nahar. She had expressed apprehension regarding the security risks associated with transporting the accused individually between the detention facility and the courthouse, citing the current law and order environment as a significant factor in her request for alternative arrangements.
