Senator Panfilo Lacson has formally requested a coordinated investigation involving several government bodies to examine reports of illicit land reclamation occurring in Taguig City. The senator identified the Philippine Reclamation Authority, the Land Registration Authority, the Laguna Lake Development Authority, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Office of the Ombudsman as the necessary agencies to lead this inquiry. Lacson emphasized that a collaborative approach is essential to assess the scope of the environmental damage and identify the parties accountable for the unauthorized activities. Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano has expressed support for the initiative, stressing the importance of ensuring that any resulting investigation adheres strictly to legal standards and maintains procedural fairness throughout the process.
