For the second year in a row, the United Nations' World Intellectual Property Organization has identified the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou region as the premier global innovation center. According to the 2026 Global Innovation Index published this Tuesday, this metropolitan cluster outperformed other major international technology hubs. Following the top-ranked trio, the list included the Tokyo-Yokohama area, the San Jose-San Francisco region, Seoul, and Beijing. Local authorities in Hong Kong expressed satisfaction with the results, noting that the recognition serves as a validation of the Greater Bay Area's ongoing commitment to fostering technological advancement and economic development on a global scale.
