Chander Agarwal, the chief executive of a logistics firm, initiated legal action against his former girlfriend, Felicia Lee, seeking the return of S$468,090. Agarwal contended that the substantial expenditures made during their relationship, which included luxury travel, educational fees for a management program, and spiritual consultation services, were intended as loans. However, a judge in Singapore rejected these claims on September 9, determining that the financial transfers were voluntary gifts rather than repayable debts. Consequently, the court dismissed the lawsuit and mandated that Agarwal cover the legal expenses incurred by Lee. The couple, who first connected on a flight in 2019, had maintained a relationship before the dispute arose. Lee, whose professional background includes roles as a flight attendant and in the insurance and medical sales sectors, successfully defended against the recovery attempt.
