The KOSPI index experienced a downward trend on Monday, dropping 1.46 percent to finish at 5,469.47 points. This decline mirrors recent negative performance on Wall Street as market participants adopt a wary stance. Investors are currently awaiting upcoming financial results from key semiconductor manufacturers, alongside the Federal Reserve's imminent decision regarding interest rates. Despite the broader market retreat, the South Korean won strengthened against the US dollar. Trading activity remained relatively subdued throughout the session, with a total volume of 190.46 million shares changing hands, representing a transaction value of 12.01 trillion won.
