A group of 20 dairy farmers from Sri Lanka recently finished an intensive week-long capacity-building workshop in India. Running from August 16 to 23, 2026, the initiative took place at the National Dairy Development Board in Anand, Gujarat. This training was established as part of a bilateral agreement following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka in April 2025, which pledged 700 annual training opportunities for Sri Lankan professionals. Throughout the program, participants received instruction on various aspects of the dairy industry, such as livestock breeding techniques, nutritional management, quality control measures, and overall production efficiency. The curriculum aimed to provide attendees with practical expertise and a deeper understanding of modern dairy value chains to improve their domestic operations.
