Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport is increasing its technological infrastructure by installing 16 new automated passport control gates. This addition brings the facility's total number of automated border control units to 122, supporting the airport's ongoing modernization efforts following its twentieth anniversary. Airport Director Kittipong Kittikachorn clarified that the new units are part of a broader expansion plan rather than an addition of 122 new gates. Currently, the automated departure system is capable of processing electronic passports from over 90 nations, while the arrival gates accommodate travelers from 34 countries. Furthermore, the airport maintains dedicated lanes to assist passengers who may require extra support during the immigration process.
