Christa Pike, the sole woman currently on Tennessee's death row, has been transported back to a maximum-security correctional facility following a recent hospital stay. The 50-year-old inmate was initially moved to a Nashville medical center in an unconscious state, suffering from significant injuries to her arm. This medical emergency occurred after a botched attempt to carry out her death sentence, during which two separate lethal injections failed to result in her death. Following her treatment and stabilization at the hospital, authorities have returned her to custody to continue serving her sentence.
