Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation is preparing to issue summonses for Israeli businessman Maimon David Marsiano and several Thai nationals as part of an expanding inquiry into potential violations of the Foreign Business Act. The probe, which began with raids on law and real estate firms in Pattaya, is now investigating assets worth tens of billions of baht across multiple provinces. Authorities are scrutinizing whether Thai shareholders acted as nominees to conceal foreign control and funding in various corporate entities. Investigators are specifically examining financial records and ownership structures to determine the true source of capital and operational authority. While no formal charges have been filed, the DSI is reviewing evidence seized from legal offices to identify potential patterns of illegal business arrangements involving foreign investors using local proxies to maintain majority stakes.
