Thailand is set to implement updated entry regulations beginning Tuesday, September 15, which will reduce the current 60-day visa-free stay period to a maximum of 30 days. This adjustment follows an official announcement published in the Royal Gazette on August 31 by the Ministry of Interior. The revised policy replaces the existing broad exemption scheme with a more specific framework tailored to different nationalities. Under these new guidelines, citizens from 60 countries and territories, including the United States, Japan, India, Australia, and several European nations, will be eligible for a 30-day visa-free entry for tourism purposes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that these changes to visa exemptions and Visa on Arrival protocols will take effect simultaneously across the country next week.
