The Malacañang Palace has officially announced the induction of ten individuals into the Order of National Artists, recognizing their significant contributions to Philippine culture. According to Proclamation 1414, the honorees represent diverse fields including literature, visual arts, dance, theater, film, music, and design. The list of recipients features Gabriel Formoso for architecture, Rafael Froilan for dance, Nicanor Tiongson and Gregorio Brillantes for literature, and Patis Tesoro for design. Additionally, Armando Lao was recognized for film and broadcast arts, Alfredo Buenaventura for music, Teodoro Hilardo for theater, and both Imelda Capije-Endaya and Nunelucio Alvarado for visual arts. Several of these distinguished artists were awarded the honor posthumously. This recognition serves to highlight the lasting impact these figures have had on the nation's creative landscape and artistic heritage.
