Three prominent Chinese-language newspapers in Hong Kong have implemented a price hike of HK$3 per copy this month, representing the first collective increase for the industry in two years. Ming Pao initiated the change this past Sunday, lifting its retail price from HK$12 to HK$15, a 25 percent rise. Two financial publications, the Hong Kong Economic Times and the Hong Kong Economic Journal, are scheduled to follow this adjustment on Monday. The Hong Kong Economic Times will also move to a HK$15 price point, while the Hong Kong Economic Journal is set to increase its cost by 20 percent. These adjustments reflect broader economic pressures currently impacting the local print media landscape.
