Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu confirmed that a formal agreement has been signed to renovate the ancient Ani Bridge located on the border between Turkey and Armenia. This project follows a competitive bidding process held by the Directorate General of Highways in mid-September. The restoration initiative is part of broader efforts to normalize diplomatic relations between the two nations. The framework for this work was established during a meeting in Yerevan on May 4, where special envoys from both countries signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of high-level officials, including Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. A joint commission will now oversee the technical execution of the bridge's reconstruction to ensure cooperation between the two neighboring states.
