Turkish prosecutors have resumed an investigation into the 2011 death of former intelligence officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu while he was held at Silivri Prison. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek confirmed that ten former prison employees were taken into custody following a court decision to reverse a previous ruling that had cleared all individuals of wrongdoing in the case. An eleventh suspect remains at large abroad, with authorities seeking their return due to alleged connections to the Gülen movement. Kozinoğlu, a long-serving member of the National Intelligence Organization, passed away in November 2011 during his period of pretrial detention. The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is now overseeing the renewed legal proceedings regarding the circumstances surrounding his passing.
