A court in Istanbul has ordered the detention of twenty individuals as part of a broader investigation into financial market activities, bringing the total number of people jailed in connection with these probes to 85. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is leading the inquiry, which focuses on allegations of money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Among those remanded into custody are lawyer Yasemin Yavuz Koçyiğit and her spouse, Gökhan Koçyiğit. Reports indicate that investigators scrutinized the couple's trading activities involving shares of the savings finance firm Katılımevim. The pair reportedly invested 2.32 billion lira in the company before liquidating their entire position for 4.85 billion lira shortly before the investigation intensified. The suspects were processed at the Çağlayan Courthouse following questioning by prosecutors.
