A significant number of higher education institutions in Bangladesh are currently functioning without dedicated permanent campuses. Reports indicate that twenty-five universities are conducting their academic and administrative activities within rented residential or commercial structures. For instance, the University of Frontier Technology in Gazipur utilizes multiple rented buildings located in residential areas to house its technology departments, including Cyber Security and Data Science. These facilities often lack the infrastructure typically associated with university environments, with some buildings still under construction or situated on narrow, inaccessible roads. Administrative functions are frequently separated from teaching spaces, further highlighting the logistical challenges faced by these institutions. This situation underscores the ongoing reliance on temporary, makeshift arrangements for higher education across the country, as many schools have yet to establish their own independent facilities.
