Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) organized a joint protest march in Mumbai, known as the 'Virat Garjana Morcha'. Accompanied by leaders from the Congress and the NCP (SP), the demonstrators marched from Metro Cinema to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters. The primary objective of the rally was to demand the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing concerns over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions. Participants were instructed to display only the national flag during the event. Beyond the demand for the CEC's resignation, Raj Thackeray advocated for a return to paper ballot voting, expressing long-standing skepticism regarding the use of Electronic Voting Machines. This demonstration marks the third collaborative effort between the estranged cousins, highlighting a unified opposition stance against current electoral processes and the ruling government's conduct.
