The National Cultural Heritage Administration of China recently took possession of 64 cultural relics and paleontological fossils previously held in the United States. These items were transferred to Chinese officials in two separate instances on September 16 and 18. The repatriation process involved cooperation with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office in New York and Homeland Security Investigations based in Washington, D.C. Among the recovered pieces is a significant torso fragment belonging to a bodhisattva statue, which originated from the Tianlongshan Grottoes located in Shanxi Province. These artifacts had been confiscated by American law enforcement agencies before being returned to their country of origin.
