The Uzbekistan Football Association has announced a tender to place eleven professional football clubs under private trust management. This initiative, stemming from a presidential resolution aimed at diversifying sports financing, requires successful bidders to provide sponsorship covering at least 20% of a club's annual expenditures. In exchange, investors receive corporate tax deductions, access to preferential five-year bank loans at 14% interest, and advertising discounts on state television. Furthermore, players will benefit from reduced personal income and social tax rates. This policy aligns with the government's long-term strategy to transition professional football toward market-based funding models by 2030. While the state will provide temporary budget subsidies to Super League teams through 2028, the ultimate goal remains the privatization of these sports entities to reduce reliance on public funds.
