The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases, known as Weqaa Center, has officially inaugurated a new initiative titled The Healthier Choice. This campaign is designed to encourage the adoption of integrated pest management techniques across the agricultural sector. According to Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Khuraiji, the program emphasizes that food safety is fundamentally linked to plant health. Rather than relying solely on chemical treatments, the initiative promotes a comprehensive strategy involving visual inspections, systematic monitoring through traps, and precise pest identification. By fostering these sustainable agricultural methods, the center aims to bolster national food security while simultaneously safeguarding environmental integrity and human health. The campaign serves as an educational platform to provide farmers with reliable data and long-term preventative strategies for crop protection.
