Jumratun Nessa Barsha, 24, passed away following a history of alleged domestic violence involving her husband, Nabid Hossain. Although the couple had been legally married in October 2025 after initial parental opposition, their relationship was reportedly marked by physical abuse and financial exploitation of the victim's family. Despite these challenges, the couple had scheduled formal wedding festivities for the upcoming winter months. According to family members, the abuse escalated on a recent Tuesday night. Barsha contacted her father, Sheikh Monowar Hossain, via video call around midnight, pleading for assistance while being assaulted. The incident occurred shortly before the planned celebration could take place.
