Authorities in Almaty have announced temporary traffic limitations on a portion of Momyshuly Street to facilitate ongoing light rail transit (LRT) infrastructure development. Starting at 8:00 a.m. on September 16 and continuing until 8:00 p.m. on September 20, one lane heading north will be inaccessible to vehicles. This affected segment stretches between the Zerdeli microdistrict and the D. A. Kunayev Mosque. To manage traffic flow, officials will place warning signage along the construction zone and are advising motorists to adjust their travel plans accordingly. The broader LRT initiative involves an 18.3-kilometer line designed to link the Alatau District industrial area with the Almaty-2 railway station, following the path of a previously existing tram route.
