Underwater excavation efforts at a submerged Egyptian port have led to the recovery of a seal ring displaying an image of the Pharos of Alexandria. This discovery adds to the historical significance of the site, which has been a focus of archaeological interest for decades. French researchers initially identified the remains of the famous lighthouse in 1994. More recently, in 2025, further exploration of the area resulted in the uncovering of additional structural elements, specifically portions of the foundation paving and the threshold of the ancient monument. The recovery of this artifact provides new physical evidence related to the iconic structure, which remains one of the most studied maritime landmarks of the ancient world.
