Political activist Abhijeet Dipke has challenged Indian Opposition parties to boycott elections if they genuinely believe the process is compromised by rigging. Dipke argues that continued participation validates the Election Commission’s proceedings and provides a veneer of legitimacy to outcomes that these parties publicly dispute. He suggests that by competing, these groups prioritize their own political survival over challenging the integrity of the electoral system. This perspective has gained traction on social media, with some figures, including former Union Minister RK Singh, echoing calls for a boycott. Despite persistent claims of electoral irregularities and systemic bias, no major Opposition party has moved to abstain from the democratic process, opting instead to remain engaged in the electoral cycle.
