The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has committed a long-term loan amounting to 102 billion tenge, equivalent to approximately 224.2 million US dollars, to the Alatau Zharyk Company. This financial support is designated for the modernization of electricity infrastructure and the advancement of digital systems within the Almaty region. The initiative aims to improve service for roughly four million residents and 50,000 business entities by facilitating the acquisition of automated metering technology and telemechanic hardware. Furthermore, the funding will assist in upgrading low- and medium-voltage transmission networks. This project aligns with the broader objectives of the National Project for the Modernization of Energy and Utility Sectors, a governmental strategy focused on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of Kazakhstan's utility infrastructure.
