The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is participating in the fifth Nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign throughout November. This initiative aims to assist pensioners in submitting their annual life certificates remotely using face authentication technology on smartphones, eliminating the need for in-person visits to government offices. The campaign, supported by various government departments, will span 2,000 cities and districts, offering doorstep services and support camps for those requiring assistance. Additionally, the government has set a target of generating 23 million digital certificates. This effort complements the recently implemented Centralised Pension Payment System, which allows retirees to receive payments through any bank branch nationwide without needing to transfer their Pension Payment Order. These measures are designed to simplify the verification process for elderly and immobile pensioners, ensuring smoother access to their retirement benefits.
